Therapy with me is a collaborative experience; I believe that you are the expert of your life and my job is to help facilitate the changes you seek, in order to live a happier, healthier and more satisfying life. You can expect compassion, support and empathy as we work together to navigate the challenges you are facing. You can also expect me to challenge you, confront you and direct you, all with gentle persistence, to look at yourself, your patterns and your thoughts and behaviors with a new perspective for the purpose of greater awareness, accountability and authenticity. I utilize humor, patience and acceptance in my work with you. You can expect me to ask for feedback, accept my own shortcomings and be a genuine human being with you.
I love this work. I love being a resource for clients and helping them find their way toward an improved sense of self and purpose. I love witnessing a moment of clarity or relief that comes from a gained realization or insight. I love when tears of release allow a client to heal and when new strengths are discovered that prove a client’s resiliency and ability. I love seeing clients forgive themselves, give themselves permission to feel and do the work that allows them to welcome change into their lives. I believe that we all have the capacity to change and I love empowering clients to make that change for themselves.
I utilize Attachment Theory, Post-Modern Approaches and Client Centered Therapy within my framework for therapy, but pull from many other therapeutic styles as well.
